Auxiliary Report
I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving with family and friends. Food seems to be the focus of Thanksgiving, traditional family recipes handed down to the next generation. I would have liked to try the stuffing recipe that Jackie Marsey provided after our Auxiliary potluck in August, but alas we didn’t host Thanksgiving this year so stuffing was someone else’s department and I probably would have been banned from hosting Thanksgiving if I changed anything in our Thanksgiving menu. Another year perhaps.
The Christmas Party is here! Please join us on Sunday, December 14 from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. for a fun and festive luncheon at Mezza Luna Restaurant in Half Moon Bay. No prizes for best ugly sweater but you can wear your favorite holiday attire, including ugly sweater if you want, and plan to have a great time! No host cocktails and appetizers at 12:30 with a delicious, Italian sit-down luncheon to follow. We will be collecting donations for Toys For Tots again this year. So please bring an unwrapped toy for any age group or if you prefer to make a monetary donation, make checks payable to Toys For Tots. We will also be having an ornament exchange so please bring a wrapped ornament, one per person, for the grab bag table. A link to the Constant Contact registration page is here. You can also contact me at my information below if you missed the Constant Contact invitation or are not on our mailing list. Thank you to our committee (Vicky Parrott, Charlene Ott, Alice Domine, myself and everyone on the chapter board) for making this a fun and festive event.
The Auxiliary will be holding a raffle benefiting LEAF at the Christmas Party. Tickets are $5 each, 5 tickets for $20. Bring your cash, as we will have a lot to raffle off, including a mystery gift donated by the Chapter’s board of directors. Thank you to Beth Valdez, Scooter Wren and Jackie Marsey for organizing this raffle prize. All money raised goes to LEAF (Landscape Educational Advancement Foundation), providing scholarships to students in horticulture programs throughout California.
I hope to see everyone at the Christmas Party as you start the holiday season. Enjoy the holidays with your family and friends, savoring the time spent with loved ones. Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Feliz Navidad and Happy Holidays! If I don’t see you as we close 2025, best wishes for a wonderful New Year!

Set Yourself Up for Success Next Season
Some years, it feels like it takes forever for spring to arrive. But when it does, weeds emerge fast and turf requires fertilization. Crews must jump into action, applying the first round of preemergent herbicides and fertilizers.
When it’s go time, the last thing you want is to discover that a spreader or sprayer isn’t working properly or that you’re missing the products needed to get started. Time is money. When crews have the right supplies on hand, they experience less downtime, leading to happier customers and higher profits.
