Auxiliary Report
Holiday’s here we come! Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah and New Year’s. The last two months of the year always go by in a blur. Enjoy time with family and friends during the hustle and bustle of the holidays.
Vendor Night at Lyngso Garden Materials was an interesting event on a particularly hot day in October. Thank you to Terry Lyngso and the rest of CLCA’s Lyngso family for hosting CLCA and thank you Erik Aichelen for organizing the evening. Thank you to Ewing Irrigation and the BBQ truck group for serving up tri-tip and all the fixings. Delicious. We saw a lot of people we haven’t seen in a while. Hopefully, they will keep coming back for more low-key and fun CLCA events. The Auxiliary held our usual raffle benefitting LEAF (Landscape Educational Advancement Foundation) to close out the evening. Thank you everyone who had cash to buy additional tickets. The Auxiliary raised $319 for scholarships for students pursuing their education in the Green Industry. The big winners were:
- James Walker, Landsculpt Gardens, won a backpack sprayer donated by Site One
- Mike Vivo, Ewing Irrigation, won a bottle of wine and wine opener donated by Davey Tree
- Scott Julian, Calstone, won a Hunter irrigation controller donated by Hunter Industries
- Luis Gaitan, Lyngso Garden Materials, won the Halloween basket made by Michelle Ott
Thank you to Andrew Tuckman, Beth Valdez, Jeremy Yearton and Michelle Ott for your contributions to the raffle. More thank you to Michelle for helping me sell tickets and run the raffle. It is a team-effort to keep things running smoothly in the Auxiliary.
Drum roll please! Our Christmas Holiday Party is confirmed for Sunday, December 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Mountain House Restaurant in Woodside. New owners, new chef, same warm and cozy space. Details and registration information is elsewhere in this newsletter and on the website clcasfba.org. Hope to see you there.
Our last Auxiliary of the year has come and gone! More to report on that meeting next month. Hope the last two months of the year go smoothly and without a lot of drama. See you soon.

Getting Started With Outdoor Porcelain Tile
“I want something maintenance free.” We hear this often in the showroom. Customers want material that is user-friendly and easy to care for. While we can certainly steer you toward less sensitive materials, it should be said that there is no perfect maintenance-free magic paving material. But there is a highly durable and quite stunning material readily on the market. Let’s talk about porcelain.
