Auxiliary Report
Happy summer to all. Hopefully the summer is passing smoothly and you are surviving having the kids home for the summer! They go back to school soon.
Summer is a fairly quiet time for CLCA and the Auxiliary. We are busy making plans for the Auxiliary Potluck on August 10 and the Chapter Picnic on September 7. The potluck is at the home of Charlene Ott in Los Altos. Thank you, Charlene for opening your home again to the Auxiliary for many potlucks and many meetings. Always a relaxing way to spend the day. The potluck is for Auxiliary members and their guests and is the must attend event of the year for the Auxiliary. If you would like to become a member and attend the potluck, there is an application elsewhere in this newsletter with all the details on how to become a member. Don’t hesitate to contact me or anyone in the Auxiliary if you have questions about who we are and what we do. We are a fun group of women and men and we do put on some awesome events! Come join us and meet new people.
Also in this issue of the Bay Breaze is a reservation form for the Chapter Picnic on Sunday, September 7 at Cuesta Park in Mountain View. The fun begins at 11 a.m., with BBQ lunch, including chicken, beef brisket and tri-tip, at 12:30 p.m. I hope to see you there cheering on the participants in the horseshoe tournament, tasting chili and savoring the entries in the dessert competition. Thank you to our Auxiliary committee (Chair Rick Camin, Alice Domine, Vicky Parrott, Lesley and Girvin Peters, Charlene Ott and Jackie Marsey) for continuing to put on this fantastic event. It is nice to see we still have kids in the organization who enjoy a scavenger hunt and eagerly await the announcement of the winners in the dessert competition. Come out for a great BBQ lunch, meet new people and enjoy a sunny (we hope!) day at the park and not in front of the computer.
Lots going on in the chapter even though it is summer. Check the website for event updates and the latest news. Have a great summer and I hope to see you soon.

An Open Invitation To All CLCA Members
On behalf of the CLCA SFBA Chapter Auxiliary, I would like to extend a warm invitation to become a member of the Auxiliary. Established in the early 1950’s, the CLCA Auxiliary was formed as an assistance and support group to CLCA.
We lend a helping hand when needed throughout the year, whether in the form of organizing functions, providing refreshments during specific activities or just being there when the Association needs us. In addition, we raise funds to support the Landscape Educational Advancement Foundation (LEAF). All representatives of CLCA members (regular, associate or affiliate) are eligible to be members of the Auxiliary.
We can accomplish great things with your participation on whatever level of interest you may have and wish to share. If you have any questions or wish to speak with someone about the Auxiliary, please feel free to call or email me. I hope you will consider becoming a member of the Auxiliary.
Sincerely,
Lesley Peters
