Auxiliary Report
Holidays here we come! Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah and New Year’s. The last two months of the year always go by in a blur. Enjoy time with family and friends during the hustle and bustle of the holidays.
The meeting on using artificial intelligence (AI) in the landscape industry was a quick overview of how AI could be used to help in estimating a project. Thank you to Michael Ding and Haley Hineman of Bobyard for the presentation. It was an interesting look at the future and I think I’m glad that Girvin and I are retiring at the end of the year! It was nice to see some new faces in the crowd. There were accidents everywhere on our drive to San Mateo so we were late in arriving and didn’t have time to do the usual meet and greet. Thank you to everyone involved in organizing the meeting. It takes a lot of people to keep the Chapter running. I hope everyone will consider joining a committee or volunteering for an event in 2025.
The Auxiliary held our usual raffle benefiting LEAF (Landscape Educational Advancement Foundation) at the October meeting. Thank you everyone who purchased additional tickets. The Auxiliary raised $125 for scholarships for students pursuing their education in the Green Industry. The big winner was Dominic Bryan of Paradise Garden and Landscape. Thank you, Vicky Parrott, for providing a fall-themed basket and congratulations Dominic.
Our Christmas Holiday Party is still under construction! Watch for further details in emails arriving soon…I hope!
Our last Auxiliary Meeting of the year has come and gone! More to report on that meeting next month. Hope the last two months of the year go smoothly and without a lot of drama. See you soon.

SFBA Annual Golf Tournament
Thank You for Making Our Annual Golf Tournament a Success!
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the 80 golfers who participated in this year’s Annual Golf Tournament at Spring Valley Golf Course on October 1st. Despite the record-breaking heat of 102 degrees, the day was packed with fun, great competition, and plenty of networking opportunities. We were thrilled to have 94 guest join us for a great dinner, making it a fantastic end to an incredible day.
Your participation and energy truly made the event a memorable one!
A special thank you goes out to our generous sponsors for their support. Without our sponsors, this event wouldn’t have been possible. We appreciate their continued support in helping us make this tournament a highlight of the year.
Looking forward to seeing you all at next year’s event!
